The ICS MP5 SD5 Review.
First glance of the ICS version is just the same as any other, It looks & feels just like any other SD MP5. It also comes with 2X standard High Caps ( 200 rounds). Lets start with the externals. ICS has sported a full metal body, rubberized fore grip to accommodate the silencer. The silencer is all metal, but does not actually do anything to quite down muzzle noise. But it looks freaking awesome. The silencer can be unscrewed to revile a shorter weapon in CQC conditions. The butt stock is ABS and can accommodate a large type battery. This weapon you have a choice of putting a small nun-chuck 9.6 battery in the fore grip or a large type in the but stock, all you have to do is move the wires from the butt stock to the fore grip. Very nice external appearance.
Internals:
The Internals on the ICS MP5 are just plain, to say the least. This rifle is in the range of $250.00 and up, for that price you would expect from a version 3 that they would have atleast upgrades the gearbox a little? NO, still use 6mm. bushings and standard ICS (or who ever makes cheap gears) gears. I believe that they really skimped on alot of things for it being a version 3 weapon. The hop up is, For lack of better words (shit). this is one of the cheapest hop up units i have seen in a long time. Very inconsistent and the adjustment is located on the side of the fore grip and is just a lever that protrudes up through the grip. This is easy to accidentally hit when in a battle . There really isn't much more to say about the internals.
Accuracy:
Accuracy is okay. The reason why i say just Okay, is for the simple fact that the hop-up is inconsistent, and that this rifle i believe could have been a much better weapon if ICS just put a little more time and effort into it. Plus you just spent damn near close to $300.00 after a battery and shipping and this rifle shoots less accurate than a Echo 1, counterpart, and twice the money.
As you can tell, this to me has been a let down. I feel that ICS has further ruined their already not so great name. this MP5 lived up to the true ICS Name I.C.S. ( I. Can't. Shoot.) I would recommend for anyone looking for an MP5 SD5, to go with the C/A one for the money and will ahve a little better performance.
from a scale from 1-10. ( 1= Crap, 10=Excellent)
I rate the ICS MP5 SD5 a: 5 |
